Come celebrate in Sicily

We could have married anywhere — but we wanted somewhere worth the trip. Taormina sits high above the Ionian Sea: honey-stone streets, lemon trees and long Sicilian lunches, with Etna smoking on the horizon.

So we’re turning a wedding into a holiday. Four days by the sea — welcome drinks, a beach day, the ceremony, and one last party on the water. Come for all of it or part of it, and make the most of Sicily while you’re here.

We can’t wait to celebrate with you. — Joey & Crystal

Getting there & where to stay

Book rooms
early
i.

Fly to Catania

Catania–Fontanarossa (CTA) is the closest airport — about an hour from Taormina. Most guests connect through Rome, Milan or another European hub.

ii.

From the airport

Private transfers and taxis reach Taormina in 60–75 minutes. Trains run to Taormina–Giardini, then a short taxi up the hill.

iii.

Getting around

The old town is walkable and mostly car-free. A funicular links the centre to the beaches at Mazzarò. You won’t need a car.

Psst — from Joey

Fly to Sicily on points

Travel hacking is kind of my thing. If you’ve got Amex or Chase points sitting around, I can help you turn them into flights here — often for a fraction of the cash price. Don’t book before you talk to me.

UNA Capotaormina

UNA Esperienze Capotaormina is our home base for the weekend — a cliff-top hotel on its own cape, with a sea-water pool, a lift down to a private rock beach, and views straight down the coast. It’s where we’ll gather for welcome drinks.

Mention the Joey & Crystal wedding when you book. Rooms fill early for September, so reserve as soon as you can.

Good to know

We’d love you for all four days (14–17 September). If you can only make part of it, the wedding itself is Thursday 16 September at 4:00 PM. Many guests arrive a day or two early to settle in.
Our host hotel is UNA Capotaormina — see the Stay section for that plus other hotels and apartment options across town. Book early; September is peak season.
Mediterranean black-tie for the wedding, relaxed for daytime events, and blue & white for the yacht day (guests in white). Full details in the What to Wear section.
Fly into Catania (CTA), about an hour from Taormina. Transfers, taxis and trains all run to town. You won’t need a car once you’re here.
Your invitation will note who’s included. If you’re unsure, just ask us — and let us know in your RSVP so we can plan.
Mid-September in Sicily is glorious — warm days around 26–28°C and balmy evenings. Still worth a light wrap for dinners by the sea.
Kindly reply by 1 June 2027 using the form below, so we can finalise numbers with our venues.
